Databases
Below is a short list of selected databases from the library's collection that may help you get started on your research. Please visit the Databases page for a complete list.
- OVID MEDLINE (1950 - present) The MEDLINE database from the National Library of Medicine includes citations with abstracts from approximately 3,900 biomedical, dental and nursing journals. MEDLINE encompasses information from Index Medicus, Index to Dental Literature, International Nursing Index and selected journals. Links to over 80 full-text journals (Journals @ Ovid Full Text) are provided. The database is divided into various year segments.
- CINAHL Indexes majority of English-language nursing journals including publications from state nursing associations, ANA & NLN publications, and primary journals from allied health disciplines. Links to selected full-text articles. 1982 to present. Updated monthly.
- PEDro PEDro is the Physiotherapy Evidence Database. It has been developed to give rapid access to bibliographic details and abstracts of randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews in physiotherapy. Most trials on the database have been rated for quality to help you quickly discriminate between trials that are likely to be valid and interpretable and those which are not.
- Science Citation Index SCI Expanded is a multidisciplinary database covering over 5,300 scientific and technical journals across 164 disciplines from around the world. Approximately 70% of the articles indexed include searchable, full-length, English-language author abstracts. 1992 to present. Updated weekly. Click on ISI Web of SCIENCE to access the database.
