3D Scanning at the Innovation Space: 7. Saving the final model and all project files

How-To Guide for 3D Scanning

7. Saving the final model and all project files

After you have merged all of the scan families together you are ready to save the final model so that you can edit it in a CAD program or print it with a 3D printer.

To save the model:

7.1. Go to the "File" menu.

7.2. Select "Save Model As".

7.3. Select your desired file format.

TIP: The .stl file format is a good choice of format if you want to 3D print your model.

You will also want to save all of the files created during your scanning work. To do this:

7.4. Copy your working directory to a USB storage device or upload the content of the working directory to an online storage account.
