Unpaywall is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox. When you browse to an article, Unpaywall will search its database of open access articles to see if there is a free option. If there is, you will see a green tab with an unlocked padlock icon . If no free version is available, you will see a gray tab with a locked padlock icon.
