Module II: Quality Health Information


Health literacy can be defined as the ability to read, understand, and act on health information.  Research has demonstrated that inadequate health literacy is closely associated with health disparities as well as with the health status of individuals.

This module introduces tools to help students understand medical terminology and provides strategies for identifying reliable health-related online information. The goal is to help students build capacity to obtain and understand basic health information, and to distinguish health-related facts from opinions.
