Module III: Taking Charge of Your Health

An important step in improving community health is to take charge of your
own health. This module provides students with the skills to improve personal health.   The lessons encourage students’ individual responsibility for enhancing health. Students learn about the value of having a family health history and they apply interview techniques to gather information about their
own family health history. They also gain an understanding of the health care system and how to prepare for and communicate effectively with a doctor or health care provider.
